Our Services

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

The Diagnostic Imaging department provides service to all clinicians within Lilongwe and around. We welcome patient referrals from all Clinicians in the community.

We are a modern digital imaging facility, providing x-rays, mammography and Ultrasound and CT scan services.

We provide routine Mammography and breast screening follow-ups. We have a radiologist on site Monday thru Friday, who does breast ultrasounds and then directs the follow-up to abnormal screenings.

A radiologist is on site to read all exams and does ultrasound procedures.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound is used to evaluate most body systems which include the organs of abdomen, pelvis, and the vascular system. Completely non-invasive and painless, an ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves as its imaging source..

X-RAY

We also offer chest x-rays for pre-op, employment and visa requirements. X-ray examinations are done on a first come basis. Depending on the exam, you may be asked to change into a gown.

LABORATORY

Laboratory test results are typically available to physicians within 24 hours. However, some specialized tests require additional time for final results

FLUOROSCOPY

Fluoroscopy is an imaging technique that uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of the internal structures of a patient through the use of a fluoroscope. In its simplest form, a fluoroscope consists of an X-ray source and fluorescent screen between which a patient is placed.

Mammography

A mammography is an x-ray image of the breast used to detect tumours and cysts often much earlier than can be detected by touch. The mammography equipment compresses the breast so that all the breast tissue can be more clearly seen.

CT Scan

A Computer Tomography (CT) scan is used to evaluate injuries or diseases, allowing physicians to obtain wafer-thin cross-sections of the inside of the body. These highly detailed images assist the physician in making a quick and accurate diagnosis.
